Why pressure is the wrong tool for wood
High pressure tears the soft wood out from between the grain lines. The board looks lighter, but the surface is fuzzed and scored, and it takes stain unevenly afterwards.
We use a cleaning solution that kills the algae and lifts the gray weathered layer, then a gentle rinse. Rust bleed around nails and hinges gets its own acid treatment.
